Managua [Nicaragua]: Tip. y Encuadernacion National, 1926. 8vo, original printed brown wrappers, liii, [3], 79 pages. Plates, illus. An account of the peace negotiations between Nicaragua Liberal and Conservative parties in the wake of the civil unrest following a coup in late 1925 by General Emiliano Chamorro. The negotiations were held aboard the United States naval cruiser Denver in Corinto and proved unsuccessful, which allowed President Coolidge to send in the marines to protect American industrial interests and kept the civil war bubbling along through the 1930s. First edition. Wrappers soiled and somewhat chipped, with evidence of a tape repair along the spine; some general soiling and wear; a good, sound copy of an ephemeral item.
