'The Big Heat' was the first of four McGivern novels to be made into noir films during the 1950's. 16 pages, saddle stitched, measuring 12 X 16 inches. A Very Good+ copy, with a faint horizontal fold at the center of the pressbook, a touch of light rubbing along the spine, and a single closed tear a the left edge of the rear wrapper. Includes the single sheet insert with casting, credits, and story synopsis printed on plain white stock, measuring 8.5 X 11 inches. Directed by Fritz Lang, and starring Glenn Ford, Gloria Grahame, Jocelyn Brando, and Lee Marvin.
