Undine and Our Sylvan World

Price: 300.00 USD

Brookline, MA: The Queen's Shop, 1906. First edition. One of 100 copies. Original photograph frontispiece tipped in. Decorative leafy borders on each page printed in green. 170 pp. 1 vols. Small 4to. The first book of The Queen's Shop. The Queen's Shop was a small private press and bindery run by Daniel Edwards Kennedy which published at least 4 books of which we know. Ransom, in fact, found only the fourth book of the press, and knew nothing else about The Queen's Shop. Three of those were by Kennedy, the fourth a translation of Dante's Vita Nuova by Charles Eliot Norton in an edition of only 30 copies. The present title was the first book of The Queen's Shop and was the author's first book. Not in Ransom First edition. One of 100 copies. Green cloth with Japan vellum spine, plain dust jacket. Spine sunned, dust jacket chipped, two spots of offsetting on title from frontispiece, front hinge cracking, but still a very good copy of the first book by the author and by the press.
