Chicago: Black Cat Press, 1937. Approx. 6.5" x 9.5" Good condition mustard hardcover with blank spine; beige titleblock on front cover with black lettering. Stringy homemade clear plastic reinforced binding bolsters and protects partly crumbling spine with old, darkened staining beneath; hand-penned round yellow sticker here reads "Inscribed." Fraying to all extremities exposes cardboard underlayer. Significant foxing, soiling and childish penciled scribbles across endpapers. Pencil scribbles, too, across from title page; a 2" rough tear from top edge near gutter here. Brown staining to a few pages, most notably to p. 59 and its facing page, where text is a bit affected. Author has SIGNED with small pencil scribble running through INSCRIPTION (dated March 28, 1945) on title page. Smoky odor; square and tight throughout. SHELVED IN CASE #12 CONSIGNMENT: TAG TO ALLAN. Dupont. First Edition.
