Illustrated paper-covered boards letetred in black and red and with a black and red prinetd baseball player design on front cover. 128 pp. Illustrated with full page comic drawings by C.H. Wellington. Collection of primarily humorous verse by sportswriter Grantland Rice, known for the poems he included with his stories. The collection leads off with the most famous of the "Casey At The Bat" parodies, "Casey's Revenge" (which is presented in fold out format on pp. 12-16) and also includes among the 57 pieces printed here, two lesser known "Casey" parodies--"The Man Who Played With Anson On The Old Chicago Nine" and "Mudville's Fate". It closes with the haunting "Game Called". Condition: a tight example but with 2" loss at the bottom of the spine strip; some smudges and spotting to the covers. One of the scarcest and most sought after of the early 20th century baseball titles, a book that has not become less uncommon in the last twenty years. First edition. Good.
