(London: Cassell and Company, 1883), RARE FIRST EDITION IN COLLECTOR'S CONDITION OF ONE OF THE GREAT BOOKS IN THE HISTORY OF WORLD LITERATURE. Very scarce in the red cloth binding. Drink and the devil had done for the rest- Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum! First edition, first issue. In this copy the advertisements are dated "5G-783", the pagination is correctly printed on p.83, and the "7" is missing from the pagination on p.127. Original map as called for opposite the title-page. 8vo, publisher's original bright red cloth with gilt-lettered spine and covers ruled in blind. Housed in a quarter red morocco clamshell case. viii, 292, ads. A handsome and quite pleasing copy, only lightly rubbed with the spine panel somewhat mellowed as usual. A little minor evidence of age, a pleasant and collectible copy.
