Tony May is an assemblage artist, a sculptor and a conceptual artist making boxes for his constructions a la Duchamp and Cornell. Amongst the cogoscenti in California he is well known and greatly appreciated . His room mate at the University of Wisconsin was Bruce Nauman and his teacher amongst others was Warren Colescott. He taught art at San Jose State University from 1967 to 2005. Being rather reticent relating to the commercial art world partially explains the title of Renny's essay. No. 17 of 100 copies.
