To Kill a Messenger: Television News and the Real World

Price: 70.00 USD

New York: Hastings House, Publishers, 1970. INSCRIBED by the author to NBC News anchorman John Chancellor on the front free end paper: "For Jack: / A great newsman with / a fatal flaw -- he's not at CBS. / With thanks for years of friendship. / Bill." Octavo, 302 pages. Very Good, with some light sunning along the top edges and a bit of soiling along the bottom edge. The dust jacket has a couple of small chips at the bottom of the spine, a closed tear at the bottom of the front panel and is rubbed along the front panel where it meets the spine. Back panel moderately tanned. Jacket spine heavily faded. Scarce signed. The author, William Small, served as CBS News's Washington bureau chief from 1962 to 1974 and was later president of NBC News. John Chancellor's copy -- a nice association. First Edition.
