David Coombs with Minnie S. Churchill
Price: 450.00 USD
Florida: Levenger Press, Delray Beach, 2003. This book was originally published in 1967 and was the standard catalogue of over five hundred Churchill paintings then known. Each painting is illustrated in color or black and white. Accompanying the images is expert text that places the individual paintings in context, often providing information such as the time and subject of the painting and to whom it was given. In 2003, Levenger Press produced this stunning Limited Edition. This is a large book, measuring 12.25 by 9.25 inches. It is bound in navy blue leather with a matching navy blue leather slipcase. There is a foreword by Mary Soames and a message from Minnie Churchill to owners of the Limited Edition. Here is an as-new copy, the pristine book and slipcase still protected within the publisher's cloth bag and original ribbon-tied presentation box. This copy is number 250 of 1500. The publisher's original silver, ribbon-tied cardboard box is the only item that shows wear, being significantly scuffed and worn, but still intact and having done its job of perfectly preserving the book, slipcase, and cloth back within. This large, heavy book will likely require additional postage. Bibliographic reference: Zoller A316. Limited Edition.
