This map of Brazil demonstrates the technological advances achieved in cartography by the late 19th century. By pairing large scale and small detail, it is able to provide a wealth of information about the country's political and topographical landscape. Rivers are drawn with every tributary, marshes are distinguished with texture, and the relief of mountains is shown with intricate hachures. An inset in the lower right shows the Western portion of Brazil otherwise cut off on the map.The map is in good condition with wear at center fold line. Some chips and tears to edges.
