A very good example, front hinge neatly reenforced, shallow fraying head edge of spine, shallow wear to the foot edge. Two small spots rear cloth. Pencilled gift inscription dated 1873 on the first front blank. Text block tight and clean. Considered to be the fourth novel to incorporate significant baseball content (the author's earlier work, "Changing Base" was the second). First edition. Very Good.
