Publisher's catalog to wrappers. Stamps of the "Central Committee of the Russian Socialist-democratic Party" to front wrapper and title page. Inventory number in blue pencil and crease to front wrapper. Still about very good. First and only edition of this pamphlet, reproducing a 'letter' written for the Georgian newspaper of the Russian Socialist-Democratic Labor Party (RSDRP). The introduction posits that there are in fact "two Europes - one proletarian, and one bourgeois" and goes on to elaborate this point. The author of the pamphlet, Osip Ermanskii (1866-1941), was a Menshevik economic theorist and one of the founders of the Soviet school of management. The seeds of his thinking on labor management can be glimpsed in this early pamphlet. The RSDRP was founded in 1898 to unite the diverse movements struggling for workers' liberation in Russia and abroad. It eventually split into the Menshevik and Bolshevik factions and was dissolved after the October Revolution. Ermanskii also authored an important memoir about the revolutionary movement, "Iz perezhitogo, 1887-1921" (Moscow, 1927). Not in the Souvarine and Bernshtein catalog.
