INSCRIBED by Sinclair Lewis on the front end paper: "With the greetings of / Sinclair Lewis / New York / Jan. 12, 1934." Lewis's story of the earnest Myron Weagle, who wants nothing more than to run the perfect hotel. We follow him as learns the hotel business, from apprentice to manager to corporate executive who has to deal with the cutthroats and thieves of the business. Signed or inscribed copies are scarce to the market. This copy was inscribed in January 1934, the month of publication. Striking dust jacket by E. Fiene. SCARCE INSCRIBED. CONDITION: Offsetting to spine from the dust jacket, toning to end papers, sunning to board edges. Occasional foxing but pages remain bright, clean, and unmarked. A Very Good or better copy in a dust jacket that has a couple of nicks and chips to the spine, not affecting any text, and a bit of rubbing and soiling. Flap corners trimmed but the original price of $2.50 remains intact. First Edition, First Printing.
