Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
ROWLING, J.K. (born 1965)
Price: 795.00 GBP
London: Bloomsbury, 1998, [Fantasy adventure] FIRST EDITION in first state jacket. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.251; [blank]; [3 of reviews]; [advertisement]. Printed boards and matching pictorial dust-jacket drawn by Cliff Wright, priced at £10.99. Slight reading lean, edges of text block toned, a few marks to title page, letter 'P' of Potter has a child-like pen outline (fairly discreet), gutter looks to have been reglued, jacket with some creasing and edgewear. A used and well-loved copy which remains presentable despite its faults; an inexpensive copy of the true first. The second novel of the perennially popular children's series; Harry returns to Hogwarts for his second year, though this year he gets there by rather unusual means. Voldermort makes another attempt to return to dominate the wizarding world, but Mr Potter, and his companions Ron and Hermione, continue to defy him.
