Altogether very good. A three novel series based on the author's wartime experience. Following the sinking of his ship the HMAS Perth he was washed ashore and with a small group of men rigged a steel lifeboat to attempt to return by sail to Australia. Following landfall and subsequent capture in Japanese occupied Java he was imprisoned in Bandoeng camp and later was set to work on the construction of the infamous Burma-Thailand Railway.
